March 2020 was a big change for much of the world. This was the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. Alicia, a nurse in New York City, the epicenter, was faced with the most frightening moment of her entire career. While most of the city was able to stay home, she had to face this deadly virus head on. Working in one of New York City’s hospitals, she witnessed people succumbing to this deadly illness on a daily basis as well as fellow nurses falling ill to Covid-19. In an effort to keep her family safe, she resorted to living in a hotel. This isolated lifestyle and daily witness of death created a dark cloud over Alicia’s life and she began to sink into sadness. She fought to find the one thing that always made her happy and brought her delight: fashion, clothes and the simple joy of getting ‘dressed up’. She channeled this passion to birthing a business, an online boutique. Lici short for Alicia, and Marie, her mother, also a nurse and her greatest supporter, led to the name Lici Marie. Lici Marie was created for that sophisticated woman that wants to feel and look sexy, yet chic.
